Print products feedback

I have created a survey on survey monkey asking questions about my print products. These are my print products

Survey results:
Q1: Overall the CD packaging is conventional to real print products

Q2: All responses said yes mainly due to the design aspect of the front cover.
Q3: The colours were the main problem here as my audience felt that colour was incosistent and not vibrant enough.
Q4: The colours and images were the main likes of my print products
Q5: The inconsistency of the main font colour seems to be a problem.
Although colour seems to be a problem i decided to keep my print products the way they are and ask some more people for feedback.. i have got feedback from people on social media

  1. I love the colours used. the contrast of the black, white and the green grass is eye catching.
  2. The front cover image is what would make me buy this CD as it targeting the audience and draws them in.
  3. The font on the artist and single name is appealing, i also love the size of them
  4. I love the all black CD with white writing and the black and white back. It looks like a real CD package.
The feedback above shows that the colour doesn't seem to be that big of a problem. i tried to adjust it as best as i could but did not come out right so i chose to leave it the way it is, as i and a few other people who gave me feedback don't seem to have a problem with it.

Monday 20th January- I had a photo-shoot for my print products. This was held in the studio. Here are some of the photos I got...

I will not be using these for my print products but just wanted to share some of the shots I got.

Wednesday 22nd January- I had a location shoot in Alexandra palace park (same place I had the video shoot). These are some of the shots I got from there.

These photos are test shots, they are blurry so I will not be using them.

Print products progress

I started create my house style on Photoshop. I figured out I wanted to create my fonts on illustrator as this was said to be a good software to create original fonts. I've never used illustrator before therefore I asked for some guidance on the basic knowledge of it. After this it was pretty easy to do as I already had an idea of what font I wanted to use and said in my pitch.

I had a good idea of how I wanted my print products to use, I knew the colour scheme and the outlook of the font so I got straight into designing it.
I started by creating the size of the cd by adjusting the canvas size on Photoshop after I laid the images onto each page of my print products.

The finishing touches were the size of font and images.

This task went well because I feel I carefully planned beforehand and I had a good idea of what the outcome would be before even starting the design process.

Print product pitch feedback

I sent the link to my potential target audience and asked for feedback. This is what was said:

Feedback

  1. Each sketch is labeled well and also has a image to show what you are talking about while referring to a real media product.
  2. Your media products look conventional
  3. You are very clear on themes, colours and costumes
  4. The images used show clear understanding of what you want your print products to look like and also how it relates to real ones
  5. The colour scheme and themes match really well with the song. It represents the vulnerability that people feel in winter and how the artist feels in the song.

Font choices: 1: 5 votes
2:0  votes
3:0 votes
4:0 votes
5:0 votes

The first font was voted the best. although I have designed my own font, the font number 1 that the audience liked is quite close to the one I made myself.
